Sex Toy Care & Maintenance
With all of the different types of sex toys available, and newer, more life-like materials
continuously being created, figuring out how to best take care of your sex toy can be
a bit confusing. Though honestly, even if your personal treasure trove consists of one
simple toy or vibe, you’d still like to extend its life as long as possible, right?
We’re here to help! Here are a few recommended tips to guide you:
Be sure to clean your toys after use to prevent the spread of infections and disease.
Always clean your toys before sharing with a partner.
Cleaning your toys is simple. Use warm water and hand soap, antibacterial is preferred.
Silicone dildos can be set in boiling water for two minutes or run through your dishwasher.
Rubber dildos absorb more dirt than silicone, so you should use condoms with rubber dildos. Wash with hot water and soap between uses.
Do not submerge battery-operated or electric toys in water. Clean under running water, being careful not to let water get inside the vibrator.
Avoid using harsh abrasives or rubbing alcohol on porous materials.
Store toys in a dry cool place and avoid direct sunlight.
Before using any toy check for any imperfections, including rough seams, tears, or cracks.
Take care of your toys, and they’ll take care of you.
TIP OF THE MONTH
If you are going to share toys or use the same toy vaginally and anally, the most reliable way to prevent the spread of any disease is to use a condom.
Using a condom prevents having to interrupt to wash up and also will substantially reduce the risk of transmission. Especially when you are not sure
about how porous your sex toy may be.
